With a surface of 1.49 km2 and a volume of 48 million m3, Lake Ritom is the largest alpine lake in Ticino. The first dam was constructed in 1919 and enlarged in 1950 in order to use the water for hydroelectric purposes of the Swiss railways.

With the construction of the dam, the San Carl pasture land, the peat bog and the Piora hotel, which was constructed in 1877, were covered by the water.

This small lake with a splendid white sand beach lays on a rocky pothole of glacial period. The depth of the lake is 15 m.

The Cadagno lake was embanked during the years 1944-1947 by elevating the shore with a dam made of earth. This lake measures 720 m in lenght and 350 m in width and reaches a maximum depth of 20 meters.

This quite and lovely lake with an oval shape is one of the highest alpine lakes in Ticino. Its name derives from the attempts of excavation for argentiferous lead.

Situated in a rocky basin of glacial origin, this small lake has a surface of 6 ha.

This small lake, not to be confused with the one situated at 2298 m of altitude, is situated next to the Bocchetta di Cadlimo.

This small lake forms a semi-circle and its surface measures 7 ha; it is situated in a gneiss basin of glacial origin.
